The WKA Booster Club was formed to support and assist all King Academy athletic programs. We are proud of the past successes of our athletes and will continue to strive to ensure future success. It is important that our students have the opportunities to compete not only as individuals but also to learn to work within a team. Participation in athletics will teach our students that hard work and dedication can overcome any obstacle. This in turn will help prepare our students for the next stage of their lives by building their confidence and social skills.
WKA has many active and successful athletic teams in which our students can participate. These sports include football, cheerleading, volleyball, basketball, sporting clays, baseball, softball, tennis, and golf.
The Booster Club relies heavily on the participation of all athletes and their families. The parents of all WKA athletes are required to work at the admission gate or concession stand during at least three athletic events during each school year. The money raised at these events pays for athletic equipment, team traveling expenditures, official fees, and other miscellaneous operating costs. In addition to these events, the Booster Club hosts an annual auction, which has allowed us to update and improve our athletic facilities.
The Booster Club offers annual membership choices, which range in variety and price. These memberships include season passes, WKA apparel, and decals and are available for purchase beginning in August of each school year. The list of Booster Club memberships will be available in the school office or can be picked up or purchased on registration day. All WKA merchandise will also be available to order or purchase on this day.
Anyone interested in signing up to work during any WKA athletic event can contact Kathy Gibson at (864) 993-2686 or Coach Jolly Doolitte at the school. Anyone who works at an event will be credited with a $50 work credit for each event they work. |
